FASHION TRENDS AND ITS HISTORICAL SURVEY, THE MEDIEVAL ERA

February 15th, 2010

In the history of civilization, the medieval era was a relatively blind period where the various religions dominated almost every affairs of life. Kings, rulers, princes were all appointed by the dominant religions of the era. When it comes to fashion, the ancient style continued with some newer modification.

Women in the medieval era were not permitted to dress any how. They adorned themselves with the longest of the robes available made from animal fur and hides. In medieval era, robes were made form hides of animal. The wool part was being re-cycled for use as raw materials in the production of the long robes.

Men in the medieval era, pre occupied themselves with religious affairs. Hence, much emphasis was not so much paid on getting better quality materials for fashion attires. The era was just the period when the church has its way in every sector of life including the political systems.

Men and women of the medieval era were just focused on religious issues so much so that they have little or no time for their fashion needs. There were nothing like the shoes we have today. People of the medieval era were going about on animal hides turned into local sandals and slippers that could be buckled.

In fact, when it comes to fashion in general, the medieval era was just the period of the long robes made from animal furs and hides.

In all, one important thing to note in this era is that there were still very few men who kept thinking of what to do to improve the fashion of their day. They were not given the chance ay that time to show up, but later, their dreams came through the efforts of the revolutionaries.
